So far, your beliefs entail or support the existence of a necessarily existent thing, N, that isn’t itself merely an abstract thing (such as an idea or an attribute). It is not merely abstract since it contains power—the ability to cause change. Let’s call something that has power a concrete thing.

If a concrete thing has an attribute A, it either has that attribute to a maximal degree or to a non-maximal degree. For example, N has the attribute of having power either to a maximal degree or to a non-maximal degree. If the degree is non-maximal, then it is possible (logically possible) for there to be a thing that has more power than N. On the other hand, if the degree is maximal, then it is not possible for there to be a thing that has more power.

If a concrete thing has an attribute to a non-maximal degree, then would it, in general, be possible for it to increase or decrease at all in the degree to which it has that attribute?
